The shipowning and shipmanagement activities of Rickmers Group were established under the name of Rickmers Reederei GmbH & Cie. KG in 1984. As a leading ship owner and manager, the Hamburg-based organisation conducts its operations with the support of an international network. The managed fleet includes close to 90 containerships, multipurpose vessels, car carriers and bulk carriers.
In 2007, Rickmers Group opened an office in Singapore under the name of Rickmers Shipmanagement (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. to extend its services to regional clients, provide assistance to Rickmers vessels trading in the Asia Pacific region and to be close to the booming Asian shipping industry.
Rickmers Group holds a stake of 33,1% in Rickmers Maritime. Rickmers Maritime is listed on the Singapore Exchange (SGX). It's objective is to own and operate containerships under long-term, fixed-rate charters to container liner shipping companies.
